Arajuno is a corner hidden in the Amazon, it is located 64 kilometers away, two hours from Puyo. This beautiful canton is characterized by possessing 40% of the Biosphere Reserve of the Yasuní National Park.

Hydrography in Arajuno
Among the most important and navigable rivers are the rivers: Arajuno, Curaray and Villano. In addition, the canton is crossed by smaller rivers such as Sótano, Llushcayacu, Huapuno, Oglán, Nushimo.
Typical Food in Arajuno
Chontakuro: worm of the palms of chonta, with an average of 6 cm. which is very desirable for its flavor and proteins. It is also attributed to several healing properties for the stomach and it is prepared in various ways, grilled, fried or in mayonnaise.
Maito de Garabatoyuyo y Palmito: A small portion of chontaduro, palmetto and garabatoyuyo is placed on a sheet of vijawa, hence the name of maito, then tied and cooked on a grill for about 15 minutes.
Carachama broth: Let it boil for 30 min with the respective dressings, served with plantain llurimahua, or yucca. It is exhibited in tourism or gastronomy fairs inside and outside the province.
Caracol Ceviche: Cook it for 10 minutes, then proceed to remove the shell, chop the meat to mix it with palmito red onion tomato kidney, salt, oil, lemon and is ready to serve.
Crafts in Arajuno
Handicrafts are an important item, since they are linked to ethnic roots and indigenous cultures.

The tour continues in the center of one of the first communities, which can be reached by vehicle. It is the Kichwa Shiwa Kucha commune, where 20 families live, offering guidance services along ecological trails near monkeys, deer, parrots, tapirs and other species.
