It is a canton of the Province of Pastaza, Ecuador. Its cantonal head is the city of Puyo.

Pastaza Typical Gastronomy
Ceviche El Volquetero.- is prepared with canned tuna, its main ingredients are the chocho, chifle, onion and tomato.
Maito.- is an Amazonian dish that consists of a wrap of fish meat, chicken or chontacuro, vegetables like palmito. These are seasoned with salt and wrapped in bijao leaves, tied with straw fiber and exposed directly to the fire.
