It is a canton of the Province of Guayas, Ecuador. Its cantonal head is the city of Simón Bolívar.
It is settled at 45 m.a.s.l., its average temperature is 23 ° C and its annual average rainfall is 500 mm. Its terrain is completely flat, its main hydrographic resources are formed by the Los Amarillos rivers that are born in the mountains of Chagún and that receive in its course the waters of several estuaries that favor for the increase of the flow, especially in winter. The Chilintomo river that also constitutes the natural limit with the Province of Los Ríos and irrigates an extensive agricultural area. Despite being a canton with a natural wealth of its land for both agriculture and tourism, its population has low economic income due to insufficient sources of work and tourism is not being used, although the current administration already has some projects elaborated about it.
