CRUISE AMAZONAS MANATEE ECUADOR
The 4 day 3 night tour aboard the Amazon Manatee cruise Ecuador, allows our guests to experience incomparable adventures in total comfort. Travel with us along beautiful freshwater rivers, both white and black waters, and discover the different Amazonian ecosystems and fabulous fauna where you will find pink dolphins, manatees, monkeys, caimans, piranhas, as well as hundreds of species of birds.
DAY 1 - FRIDAY: QUITO - COCA - RIVER NAPO
Our adventure begins in the city of Quito, capital of Ecuador. After taking a 30 minute flight to the Amazonian city of Coca, located in the province of San Francisco de Orellana, we move to the dock to board our motorized canoe that will take us about an hour and a half by the river, enjoying the first landscapes and sounds of the glorious Amazon, up to the Manatee Amazon Explorer, where we will receive a warm welcome on board.
Once installed, local naturalist guides, experts who know this prodigious environment, will provide a brief and informative introduction to the Ecuadorian Amazon, after which, guests will have their first opportunity to discover the different facilities on board the cruise: extensive social areas, comfortable rooms and a spectacular observation deck that allows us to admire the changing landscape of the jungle while we We slide down the Napo river.
After dinner, we will dive into the depths of the Amazon rainforest with a short walk to observe the nocturnal activity of the forest, stimulating our senses with the sounds and aromas that emerge from this wonderful biodiversity.
DAY 2 - SATURDAY: BIOLOGICAL CORRIDOR PAÑACOCHA
We continue sailing downstream to the mouth of the Pañayacu River, where we will make a canoe trip to discover the attractions of this fabulous lake reserve. Pañacocha is an ecosystem flooded with black waters whose name means "piranha lake" in the native Kichwa language. In this protected tropical forest there are 9 species of primates, 500 species of birds and more than 100 species of fish. This is the ideal habitat for the Piranhas, the Arawana (the so-called "mono water fish") and the White Cayman.
In this little paradise, we will walk on trails with our naturalist guides and relax in a nearby camp where we are waiting for a Delicious Amazon BBQ with refreshing drinks and traditional delights of the area. After lunch, we will sail in kayak and the bravest can enjoy a nice swim in the Pirañas Lake, we promise that it is not as dangerous as it sounds!
Back on board the Manatee Amazon Explorer, we will have the opportunity to attend a conference given by our naturalist guides and watch an educational documentary about the region.
DAY 3 - SUNDAY: SALADERO DE LOROS - COMUNIDADES AMAZÓNICAS & TORRE DE OBSERVACIÓN
In the morning, we will embark on canoes to observe one of the most fascinating experiences on this side of the Amazon: the pardos or parrot clay licks. This unique place is rich in minerals and attracts hundreds of colorful parrots, parakeets and Amazonian birds every day of the year.
Later, we will visit a Kichwa Cultural Center, where we will learn about the Amazonian communities and their ancestral culture, their traditions and gastronomy. The members of the local community will teach us about the lifestyles of the indigenous people who live on the banks of the Napo River. We will also have the opportunity to support the local community by purchasing handicrafts, local products and other souvenirs made with their own hands.
Before sunset, we will visit an observation tower in the canopy of the rainforest, which offers an amazing 360 degree view of the entire Amazon basin. It is a privileged opportunity to take photos. Both bird lovers and the most inveterate ornithologists will especially enjoy this excursion.
DAY 4 - MONDAY: RETURN
Here ends our adventure! We will enjoy the last leg on board and disembark the Manatee Amazon Explorer to take the motorized canoe back to Coca (one and a half hour trip).
The 4-day and three-night tour of the Amazonico Manatee cruise offers a comfortable bar and spacious social areas, a cozy reading room, spa, an exclusive restaurant with exceptional cuisine and a relaxing outdoor Jacuzzi on the observation deck, standard cabins (double, double and triple) that offer: air conditioning, private balconies, panoramic windows and private bathroom with hot water.
