The Chimborazo is the highest mountain in the Ecuadorian Andes and due to its proximity to the equator is also the point furthest from the center of the Earth. Climbing in the Chimborazo is a challenge for the most experienced mountaineer, it is a technical climb that undoubtedly goes beyond its physical limits. In addition to adequate acclimatization, an excellent physical condition is required to cover the difference in altitude of 1,300 meters between the Whymper Refuge and the summit, a walk from 9 to 12 hours over endless glaciers.
