Trekking Dog's Face, Baños de Agua Santa
The hike beginns directly in Baños, first walking down along the road to Ulba, where we take the path upwards. We follow old, not very transited farmer's paths (that's why long pants are recommendable). Partly the route is very demanding, steep and leads through short rocky terrain, therefore it's essential to have shoes with good traction and confidence. During the ascent we follow the ridge up till 2.445 m, afterwards the path leads us down through cultivations of fruits and vegetables. At the end we walk along the route "Los Sauces" with breathtaking views of Baños and its volcano Tungurahua (5.016 m). We reach Baños via San Francisco Bridge.
The route is very demanding, recommended only for advanced or expert trekkers/hikers and trail runners. Bad weather can be a challenge - so make sure to be prepared and that your back bag is well packed!
