The territory of the Daule canton is crossed by a large number of rivers and streams. The most important river is called Daule. This is born in the knot of Sandomo, in the woods of Santo Domingo de los Colorados, very close to a town called San Miguel; there they call it Peripa, whose name it conserves until meeting with the Great one, from where it takes the name of Balzar river, that loses soon to take the one of Santa Lucia and finally the one of Daule, with which it ends at the Guayas river. In the margins of the Daule River and its tributaries the ancient culture Tejar Daule River, discovered by renowned archaeologist Victor Estrada Icaza guayaquileño, according to this researcher this culture developed around the year 500 BC and 500 AD was developed.
Climate of Durán
Durán's climate depends on several factors. Due to its location in the equatorial zone, the city has a warm temperature during most of the year. However, its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means that the Humboldt (cold) and El Niño (warm) currents mark two distinct weather periods. One rainy and humid, with heat typical of the tropics, which extends from December to April (known as winter that corresponds to the austral summer); and the other dry and a little cooler (known as summer that corresponds to the southern winter), which runs from May to December.
Due to its location in the equatorial zone, the city has a warm temperature of 20 ° C to 27 ° C during most of the year.
