It is a canton of the Province of Los Ríos, Ecuador. Its cantonal head is the city of Valencia.
The Canton Valencia is part of the Greater Quevedo metropolitan area that has a population of approximately 464,582 inhabitants in an area of 5,265 km2 according to the 2010 census that includes the cantons Quevedo, Mocache, Buena Fe, Valencia in the Province of Los Ríos, El Junction of Guayas, Pichincha de Manabí and La Maná de Cotopaxi, placing it as the 6th in positions of Metropolitan Areas of Ecuador and one of the fastest growing. In this canton there are several banana balers, peelers, among other companies.
The lands are lush, produces all kinds of agricultural products, among the main ones are bananas, coffee, rice, corn, soybeans, bananas, tobacco, African palm, passion fruit, a variety of citrus fruits and fruits.
