Urdaneta - Los Ríos - Ecuador

It is a canton of the Province of Los Ríos, Ecuador. Its cantonal head is the city of Catarama.

Urdaneta has a territorial extension of 290 square kilometers. It limits to the north with the Canton Windows; to the south with Babahoyo; to the east the Province of Bolívar and to the west with Puebloviejo. The cantonization of Urdaneta was in the year 1913 in the second government of General Leónidas Plaza Gutiérrez. Its main river is the Zapotal or Caracol, the same that during the journey, through the canton, takes the name of Catarama. This canton in production highlights cocoa, coffee, bananas, sugar cane, cotton, wood, tropical fruits and short cycle products. The typical costume of the women of our canton is a dress with low-cut flights, flared skirt with wagons in the waistband, in which it has painted the products that are produced in the fertile lands of our Canton, this dress is complemented with a large flower That adorns her hair. Gentlemen wear beige shirt with long sleeves and a belt at the waist and wide pants in the same fabric; on their head they wear a straw hat and even on the side of their waist a machete with their respective sheath, a suit that represents the montubio of our Canton.
